Older Cranhill and Blackhill residents get together in link-up between Thenue and Royal Voluntary Service

We teamed up with the Royal Voluntary Service this week to serve a delicious afternoon tea in Cranhill!

The occasion was another opportunity for us to engage with our older tenants and obtain useful feedback to inform our “Older Persons’ Strategy.”

The event was held at the Scottish Veterans Residences in Cranhill and arranged by ourselves and the Royal Voluntary Service which operates a community café at the location.

Royal Voluntary Service is an inspiring organisation whose motto is “together for older people” and is supported by thousands of volunteers who give of their time freely and generously.

Paola Doyle, Thenue’s Housing Support Manager, said: “This was a valuable opportunity for us to engage with our older tenants in Cranhill and Blackhill to remind them of the services we provide for older
people.

“We were also able to listen to and take careful note of the things that matter to those in later life. Our Older Persons’ Strategy can only be effective if we fully understand what matters to our older tenants in the communities where they life.

“We are also very grateful indeed to the Royal Voluntary Service for helping to arrange this afternoon tea.”

We are planning further afternoon tea events for older people around our various communities in the coming months.
