Job and Volunteering Fair

Last updated: 12.00pm, Thursday 22nd August 2019 by

We are holding a job and volunteering fair on Thursday, 12 September from 12.30 to 3 pm at the Calton Heritage and Learning Centre, London Road, Calton.

It is a Jobs and Volunteering Fair with a Difference. A key highlight will be a Jobs and Volunteering Board with actual opportunities for people to apply for.

We have organised many jobs and volunteering fairs before but this is by far the largest in recent years.

A number of high profile employers are taking part seeking to recruit while there are volunteering opportunities, too.

Current vacancies will be on offer, there will be advice on applying for work, help with CVs and a number of free to enter competitions offering significant prizes.

CLIC (Connecting Locally Informing Communities ) is our project to enhance people’s digital skills offering such things as training on how to get online to look for jobs and delivering the skills needed for everyday life in a digital age.

This is by far the largest jobs and volunteering fair we have organised and the response from employers has been fantastic. We expect it to be well attended and hope those looking for employment will come along.

Remember, too, the event is designed to encourage people to volunteer in their communities and to offer a helping hand to achieve personal goals. Lots of help will be on offer to explain about volunteering. It is an occasion not to be missed.

A key highlight of the day will be competitions offering a range of significant prizes which have been donated by employers. We are extremely grateful for their exceptional generosity and willingness to contribute.

Mears, Remploy, Glasgow Kelvin College are just some of the high profile employers taking part along with Jobs and Business Glasgow, JobCentre Plus and Volunteer Glasgow.
